Top sports and exercise are simple, but not easy. In addition to discipline, skill, and aptitude, training is an essential component of sports and this also includes sufficient rest.
Aside from technique, tactics and mentality, physical condition/stamina or motor skills are the basic elements of performance in professional athletes. Unfortunately, a test to measure or record the level of stamina or over-trainedness does not yet exist. This is partly hindered by the fact that we do not know to what extent the separate elements of the basic motor skills contribute to or the level these must meet to come to the optimal performance. This varies for every sport; for instance, skating versus athletics. In order to achieve optimal performance, the chances of disturbing the balance in the sympathetic or parasympathetic system, or over-trainedness, increases.
In such situations, Robert van der Sluis uses a method to remedy this imbalance in our parasympathetic and sympathetic systems with specific techniques. Over the last few years, this method has helped many people in the sports world as well as individuals who have experienced stress due to work or other significant stressors.

Four years ago, I came into contact with Robert. I heard that Robert had a special skill set through friends and family. As a professional athlete, I often experienced back pain and struggled with exhaustion. Thanks to Roberts treatments, I recovered from my exhaustion and my back no longer bothers me. I started to perform and function better in my sport and I have been able to achieve unique performances in the Netherlands. For instance, I was the first and currently the only Dutchman to participate in the Coolangatta Gold and to win a medal in the European and World Championship.

In 2011, I had only one goal: the World Championship Ironman Triathlon on Hawaii for amateurs. I began training fanatically in the winter of 2011. So fanatically, in fact that I was in great shape by April. This was too soon, but it was all so easy. I increased my efforts in training and as a result, a month later found myself over-trained. The season hadn't even really begun yet. After a few weeks in the over-trained stage, I realized that I wasn't going to be able to solve this problem on my own. At the end of May, I went to Robert and I was back in shape in time for the World Championship qualification in August. There were only 7 weeks between the Ironman qualifications and the eventual goal. Not much time to recover, especially considering my busy home life with two young children, which isn't always conducive to a good night's sleep. With Robert's help, my recovery went well and I was in top shape when I entered the World Championship. Eventually, I won the race and became the amateur world champion Ironman.
